Interior Spring-Cleaning Helps Retain the Value Homes and Feels So Good!

Spring cleaning isn’t meant to be something you do once. That is being reactive. A good spring cleaning helps you to plan for maintenance throughout the year.

What does the term deep cleaning mean to you?

We typically think about all those spaces which don’t get cleaned frequently. When we cook bacon on the stovetop, the grease never stays just in that one area. When fats and oils are heated, they turn into tiny,
lightweight grease droplets that catch the natural airflow through your home and land in other parts of your kitchen to surfaces and cabinets. These grease layers can build up over time and attract dust, debris, and that nasty pollen that finds a way to get inside!

Cabinets are often overlooked. When we deep clean doors and handles, we use safe, mild soaps and soft, non-abrasive materials for drying.

What other areas affect how clean a home feels? The daily or weekly cleaning may cover floor or carpet cleaning, but what about the baseboards? We often find that residents ignore cleaning ceiling fans, light switches, and doorknobs during a season when allergens and infections make it even more important for spring cleaning.

Do you or someone you know have an older home with aged windows that seem just too much work to handle? Windows and screens may be taking hours to carefully take out or maneuver for thorough cleaning at a time when you either want to be able to open them or see your beautiful flowers and trees without cobwebs or dirt distracting you.

What is really helpful during spring cleaning is that while cleaning you notice the areas that require repair. While cleaning, we like to make a checklist of chipped or discolored areas, water leaks, chipped paint, or other wear and tear important to homeowners.

When we are cleaning for our clients, they often are drawn to areas where the clutter or unused items which have become part of the norm really stand out. Spring cleaning gives you a new perspective of how your home could be. Ask yourself how you would feel with a few less baskets or that magazine rack collecting dust were out the door! We have found that people like our service to help them by hauling away what they just don’t want anymore.

If you are renting a home and moving out, you might want to consider the cost of a move-out cleaning to ensure your security deposit. For larger homes with high deposits, hiring a cleaning service can sometimes cost far less than the fees a condominium or other landlord may charge you.

Regardless of your own situation as a renter or a homeowner, spring cleaning will help you enjoy your home during one of the best seasons of the year!
